Collin hitting - 4/26/14

1st Competitive Year of Baseball

Collin is growing up so fast and this year is his first year to play competitive baseball. He is playing for the 7-year old Germantown Giants team. We weren't sure he would be able to play in the competitive league this year since he is only 6, but what an experience it has been! He seems to really enjoy it and we love watching him play!

Running drill during football evaluations (July 30, 2013; 5 years old)

First Day of Kindergarten!

Tuesday, August 6, 2013 was Collin's first day in Kindergarten (Farmington Elementary, Germantown TN). What a bittersweet day it was for me! As each year passes, I realize how quickly my baby is growing up! It's hard to believe we are only a couple of months away from his 6th birthday. He is becoming so independent and his personality continues to shine bright everywhere he goes. Collin never meets a stranger and is one of the friendliest kids I know. We are so proud of the sweet boy he is and can't wait to see what his future holds!

In addition to starting Kindergarten, we just recently started his first year of football. He will be playing in the Germantown Football League for the Broncos. We're excited to see him play and hope he loves football as much as he loves baseball and basketball!

It's all in a name...

I sat down with Collin yesterday to have him sign all of his "thank you" cards so we can get them mailed to everyone that came to his birthday party. After he wrote his name on a few of the cards, I noticed he kept drawing this line above the first part of his name. I asked him why he kept doing that and he told me that he needs it to write his name straight. I told him that he needed to try not drawing that line and use the bottom line as a guide to write his name straight. Well, below are pictures of how he wrote his name WITH the line and WITHOUT the line. Clearly, he was right -- he needs the line! :)

WITH THE LINE (notice the red arrow)

WITHOUT THE LINE (his name starts going up)
