Collin's 2nd Christmas...

This was Collin's 2nd Christmas, but really more like his first since he was only a couple of months old last Christmas. Even though he still didn't quite know what was going on, he had a great time playing with his new gifts and tearing the paper off the presents! We enjoyed watching his reactions to all of the different things he received from different people. We spent much of the time making a couple of different trips back and forth to Little Rock to be with my family, but it was time well spent! So far, it's hard to tell what toy Collin likes "best." So, to all of you who bought him a toy, know that it's being played with on a regular basis. He hasn't pushed anything to the side (yet). We bought him a small basketball goal and I am surprised at how much he likes to shoot on it! What is so funny is that when he shoots it is more like he is trying to dunk because he gets right up on the goal. When he lets go of the ball he kind of yells like he is dunking in someone's face. It's hilarious.

Another funny thing that he has started doing lately is pushing things around to stand on when he can't reach something. For example, he will push his booster seat near the kitchen counter so he can stand on it and try to grab something on the counter. While it's funny, it usually warrants a little spanking on the hand because we don't want him to end up falling and hurting himself. I am so amazed at the little things he understands now. When we grab his houseshoes and tell him we need to put on his shoes, he will sit down and hold his feet up. When I am giving him a bath and ask him to stand up so I can wash his little bottom, he stands right up. Then, when I ask him to sit back down, he does! The only time he doesn't really want to sit down is when he makes his way up on the couch. He's finally big enough to pull himself up on the couch and he thinks that's the most amazing thing -- you should see how proudly he smiles once he is standing on the couch. We ask him to sit down and he thinks it's funny to run from one end of the couch to the other -- then when we get up to "make" him sit down, he gradually lets his feet slide until he is sitting.

Last thing before I end this post -- Collin is very into dancing. He is not too good at it yet, but it's so cute to watch. Below is a video of him running around in circles, screaming, clapping and doing all kinds of things as some music plays in the background. It's hilarious. You will notice how he starts to get a little tired towards the end (PS-Change of plans -- click on this link to see the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5FOT0xKFzQ -- it was taking WAY too long to upload to this site, so I posted it on YouTube instead).
